HOMELESS CLOTHING DRIVE OCTOBER- NOVEMBER 21ST!
As it is getting colder, the Overcome youth group is conducting a clothing drive for the homeless of downtown Birmingham!
You can make a difference! Many people have the heart for helping a good cause but don't know where to start. How can one person make a difference in the world we live in? Well, it's as simple as cleaning out your closet! We all have clothes we don't wear any more, shoes we've out grown or just aren't instyle any more. In a society where we want and buy the newest things because last years clothes are sooo outdated, we have plenty to share!
The homeless are in need of your old JACKETS, FLEECES, SHOES, GLOVES, HATS, BLANKETS, SLEEPING BAGS, BACKPACKS, and DUFFLE BAGS!
IF cleaning your closet isn't your style, you can also help by buying and donating new SOCKS, UNDERWEAR, AND UNDERSHIRTS.
You can further get involved by helping us cook food for the homeless or actually going downtown with us to hand these donated items out and feed them breakfast.
If you would like to be apart of this experience please contact me at christi@churchatthewell.com. All dontations need to be in by Friday November the 21. Thanks for your help! -Christi Cheek, Director
Matthew 25:35-4035'For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36 I was naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.' 37"Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38'And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39'When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' 40"The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'
